Monitoring Moisture Content in Fluid Bed Drying with NIR Spectroscopy

When developing a fluid bed granulation process it is critical to optimise the process to ensure batch-to-batch consistency and efficient running. As moisture content is considered a critical quality attribute, it is desired that the moisture profile in time is well defined and controlled and therefore the design space must be well defined and monitored ensuring the ability to implement corrective action. Presented here is a study demonstrating how Multieye NIR spectrophotometer can be implemented to determine the effects of process parameters on the moisture-time profile during a fluid bed granulation process.
