A practical application of Industry 4.0 architecture (PAT, data analytics, manufacturing intelligence, cloud architecture) with our SmartX system, and how it can be implemented to reduce risks associated with traditional fluid bed granulation manufacturing processes. A novel 5-phase Advanced Dynamic Process Control approach to fluid bed granulation is demonstrated with feedback control of multiple key process parameters based on traditional senor data, real-time PAT measurements of both moisture content and particle size, and process parameter relationships modelled from historic process data.
The end-product quality of batches executed using this control approach is analysed and compared to that of batches executed using more traditional recipe-driven control. Download this whitepaper to know the complete result of this study.
